Carroll took down Dale County 43-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Eagles made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,569 from 4,989. The improvement came about via a 43-14 victory over the Warriors last week.
Valley's dynamic duo of JOSHUA MEIGS and JAMES NIX proved tough for Smiths Station to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. MEIGS threw for 251 yards and two touchdowns and NIX had 75 yards receiving. DAVION BAILEY helped Valley's passing attack out by catching five balls for 69 yards.
Xavier Woodson was the most productive running back in 5A Region 2 this week. He ran for 90 yards on 11 carries as Eufaula fell to the Panthers. Thomas Ford also contributed to the rushing game with 51 yards on the ground.
Valley's MEIGS and HOUSTON BARNES have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. MEIGS has thrown for 1510 yards this season, while BARNES, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 28 catches for 440 yards. Briquez Alvies from Russell leads the league in rushing with 752 yards.
Carroll led the league in scoring this week after putting up 43 points on Dale County.
