Soccer Recap: Carroll Comes Up Short

Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against Gilbert, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Carroll can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 198th, while Gilbert is ranked 28th).

Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Gilbert, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2-2 record this season.

Carroll will venture away from home to square off against Denison-Schleswig at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gilbert, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 10-0 victory against Coon Rapids-Bayard on the 6th.
