Softball Recap: Laconia Extends Winning Streak to Three

Laconia took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Hollis-Brookline, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Sachems sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Cavaliers on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Sachems sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Kaydence Stinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 18 Ks. Those 18 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Durfee, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Amaya Dutile, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Laconia's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hollis-Brookline, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
