Softball Recap: Calvary Chapel Eagles vs. Valencia Tigers
Calvary Chapel fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Valencia on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-7 on April 9th.
Bella Bos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Savanna Bias was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Calvary Chapel has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Valencia, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-10.
Coming up, Calvary Chapel will head out on the road to take on Tustin at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Valencia, they will welcome Whitney at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
