Volleyball Recap: West Brunswick Takes a Loss

West Brunswick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Ashley Screaming Eagle, falling 3-0. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Screaming Eagle when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

West Brunswick was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-11, 25-14.

Ashley can attribute much of their success to Nina Cave, who had 14 digs and three aces. Cave has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.

West Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Ashley, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Brunswick is set to take on their familiar foe Laney at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ashley will face off against rival Hoggard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
