Softball Recap: Valley View's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Valley View entered their tilt with Wallenpaupack Area on Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Buckhorns 8-2. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 6-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Abbi Call was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoie Krupovich, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Kalli Karwowski was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3.

Valley View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in four consecutive matches.

Valley View's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Wallenpaupack Area, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Valley View will welcome Delaware Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wallenpaupack Area, they will venture away from home to face off against Minisink Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Buckhorns' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
