Recap: Jackson Academy Raiders vs. Presbyterian Christian Bobcats
The Jackson Academy Raiders waltzed into their game on Friday with 15 straight wins but they left with 16. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 71-70 win over Presbyterian Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jackson Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Marcus Goodloe out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Jackson Academy's lineup was just a bit different on Friday as Goodloe got a bit more time on the court (30 vs. his season average of 15.23). Goodloe made the most of the opportunity, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Jackson Academy pushed their record up to 30-1 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.2 points. As for Presbyterian Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 24-9.
