Basketball Game Preview: Lame Deer Morning Stars vs. Huntley Project Red Devils

Having just played yesterday, the Lame Deer Morning Stars will jump right back in to play the Huntley Project Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lame Deer knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 19 matchups -- so hopefully Huntley Project likes a good challenge.

Lame Deer is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They snuck past Baker with a 74-68 victory. Given the Morning Stars' advantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Spartans are ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Huntley Project's strategy against Lame Deer on Thursday. Huntley Project walked away with an 89-76 win over Lame Deer. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.

Huntley Project's win came from a few key players Lame Deer will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was ANDERSON MCNIVEN, who posted 30 points. The team also got some help courtesy of PARKER COOK, who had 23 points.

Huntley Project pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.9 points over those games. As for Lame Deer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Lame Deer came up short against Huntley Project in their previous meeting on Thursday, falling 89-76. Can Lame Deer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
