Softball Recap: Western Boone Finds Home Field Redemption Against Danville

There's no place like home for Western Boone, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Danville Warriors 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Stars: when they faced off against the Warriors on Wednesday, they had to take a 5-2 defeat.

Ally Lewis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addi Lee, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Mickayla Naanos was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Western Boone's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Danville, they moved to 9-5 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.
