Volleyball Preview: Citrus Hurricanes vs. Springstead Eagles

Citrus and Springstead are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2018, but not for long. The Citrus Hurricanes will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Springstead Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Citrus was able to grind out a solid victory over Pasco, taking the game 2-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Citrus took both sets by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-15.

Citrus was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Springstead earned a 2-0 win over Crystal River on Saturday.

Springstead's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping Crystal River to exactly 16 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16.

Citrus is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Springstead, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.
