Softball Recap: Haverford Comes Up Short

Haverford fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Garnet Valley on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Garnet Valley Jaguars by a score of 6-5. The Fords have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Lucy Ardizzi led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Hubley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Haverford's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Garnet Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haverford will head out to square off against Plymouth Whitemarsh at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Haverford is facing Plymouth Whitemarsh at the right time seeing as Plymouth Whitemarsh is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Garnet Valley, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Upper Darby at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
