Murphysboro had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Cairo Pilots as they made off with a 71-51 win. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Pilots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Cairo now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Murphysboro will be taking part in a tournament against Sparta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cairo, they are taking a road trip to challenge Fulton County at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
