Nimitz has gone 8-2 against Irving recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 12 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Nimitz and four for Irving.

Nimitz is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Richardson on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Vikings had to suffer through a 62-7 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-7.

Despite the loss, Nimitz saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaylin Harris rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries. Harris' longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.

Meanwhile, Irving fell victim to Pearce and their airtight defense on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Mustangs and fell 48-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 854th, while the Mustangs are ranked 360th).

Nimitz's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Irving, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
