Basketball Recap: Flanagan Comes Up Short

Flanagan was the 58-42 winner over Piper when they last played one another back in November of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Flanagan Falcons took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Piper Bengals. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bengals 20-11 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Flanagan still got an impressive performance from Jason Carias, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Carias, who put up nine points.

Flanagan's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Piper, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7.

Flanagan and Piper could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Flanagan (ranked 454th) will meet Western (ranked 21st) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Piper (ranked 435th) will meet Cardinal Gibbons (ranked 22nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
