Softball Preview: Glass Hilltoppers vs. Amherst County Lancers
Glass is 0-10 against Amherst County since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Glass Hilltoppers will head out on the road to face off against the Amherst County Lancers at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Glass finally came back down to earth on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of William Campbell. The loss was Glass' first of the season.
Meanwhile, Amherst County's 18-3 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They suffered a tough 12-1 defeat at the hands of Appomattox County last Tuesday. Amherst County has not had much luck with Appomattox County recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Having lost for the first time this season, Glass fell to 3-1. As for Amherst County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-1.
