Basketball Recap: Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves vs. St. Teresa's Academy Stars
After flying high against the Tonganoxie Chieftains last Tuesday, the Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves came back down to earth. Blue Valley Southwest took a 54-39 bruising from the Stars on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Blue Valley Southwest has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Blue Valley Southwest lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lily Unruh. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with two blocks. Kylie Cross was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Blue Valley Southwest's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Valley Southwest will take on the Tigers at TBD on Tuesday. Blue Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Timberwolves in Kansas (the Tigers are ranked 28th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 112th). As for St. Teresa's Academy, they will be playing at home against the Guardians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
