Softball Recap: Many Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Many had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Patterson Lumberjacks a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Baylee Samples, who gave up just two hits to keep Patterson off the board.

On the hitting side, Many got a big performance out of Caroline Cedars, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Layken Foster, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Many's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Patterson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10.

Many will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lumberjacks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
