            Softball Recap: Central Spartans vs. San Ysidro Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            Central not only won  on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 23, 2024 (when they won  16-5). They put the hurt on the San Ysidro Cougars with a sharp  13-2 victory. The  win was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won three  contests in a row.

 Kaylani Torres made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those  six  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was even better at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and three  runs. That  home run marked the first that  she has  launched this season.
 In other batting news, Central got a big performance out of  Thalisa Soto, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kaylee Loya, who  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with three  runs.
 Central  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in three consecutive  games.
Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for San Ysidro, they dropped their record down to 13-11 with the  defeat, which was their fifth straight  on the road.
 Coming up, Central will venture away from home to  challenge Canyon Crest Academy  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ravens have averaged an impressive 6.1  runs per game this season. San Ysidro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
