Football Game Preview: Kemper County Wildcats vs. Northeast Lauderdale Trojans

The Kemper County Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kemper County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Kemper County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 50-36 to Choctaw County.

Despite the defeat, Kemper County got top-tier performance from Damarius Yates, who rushed for 108 yards and three scores on only 14 carries. The Wildcats also got a significant boost from Gabriel Murray, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 29-2, which was the final score in Northeast Lauderdale's tilt against Forest on Friday. The Trojans have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Having lost for the first time this season, Northeast Lauderdale fell to 2-1. As for Kemper County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything came up roses for Kemper County against Northeast Lauderdale in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 45-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
