Preview: Belleville Mennonite Thunder vs. Columbia County Christian
Belleville Mennonite is 2-7 against the since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The two teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
After a string of three wins, Belleville Mennonite's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were beaten by Blacklick Valley 73-42.
Meanwhile, Columbia County Christian stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Centre County Christian Academy 75-53.
Pierce Cughan was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 48 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Clay Farley, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Belleville Mennonite's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Columbia County Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
Belleville Mennonite was taken down by the 58-29 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Belleville Mennonite, Luke Cughan (who scored nine points along with eight assists and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
