Baseball Recap: IC Catholic Prep Takes a Loss + How To Watch

IC Catholic Prep extended their losing streak to ten on Wednesday, dropping them down to 6-11. They lost 11-1 to the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Chargers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Aurora Central Catholic, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-11. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

For Aurora Central Catholic's part, Luke Torrance made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Aurora Central Catholic is 4-2 when Torrance allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Torrance was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other pitching news, Jacob Ginocchio looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three contests.

Back at the plate, Tyler Davis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Aurora Central Catholic's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-11 when he doesn't). Brodie Curry was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
