Football Recap: Clear Spring Comes Up Short

Clear Spring lost against Tussey Mountain back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blazers took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blazers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 185th in Maryland, while the Titans are ranked 397th in Pennsylvania).

Noah Lucko continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tussey Mountain, rushing for 160 yards and two TDs. Lucko is becoming a predictor of the Titans' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't).

Clear Spring's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Tussey Mountain, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clear Spring will take on Southern Huntingdon County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blazers will be up against the Rockets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Tussey Mountain, they will host Curwensville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will be up against the Golden Tide's rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.88 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
