Baseball Game Preview: Los Alamos Hilltoppers vs. Goddard Rockets

For the second straight game, Los Alamos will face off against Goddard. The Hilltoppers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rockets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Los Alamos heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Friday. They lost 15-1 to Goddard. The Hilltoppers' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

For Goddard's part, Cameron Brown was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Brown a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Brady Duer was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Goddard is undefeated when Duer posts two or more runs, but 7-14 otherwise. Airell Aguilar was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Goddard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Los Alamos' loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Goddard, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-14 record.
