Softball Recap: Veterans Memorial Comes Up Short

Veterans Memorial came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Harlingen Cardinals, falling 18-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-8 back in March.

The loss snapped Veterans Memorial's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-13 record. As for Harlingen, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-9.

Coincidentally, Veterans Memorial and Harlingen will both be playing Hanna the next time they take the field. The Chargers will host the Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cardinals will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
