Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Geneva

Geneva gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the St. Charles East Fighting Saints 4-3. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Nelson Wendell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Brady McMillen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory (which was Geneva's fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three runs across that stretch. As for St. Charles East, they dropped their record down to 12-16 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Geneva wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-7 defeat against St. Charles North on the 17th. As for St. Charles East, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-11 win against Wheaton-Warrenville South on the 17th.
