Softball Recap: Middletown Islanders vs. Burrillville Broncos
Sadly, Middletown is still looking for their first win of the season after six games. They fell just short of the Burrillville Broncos by a score of 11-9 on Wednesday. One positive for Middletown, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
For Burrillville's part, Avah Colbert was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Gabrielson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Burrillville, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2.
Middletown will take on Westerly at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burrillville, they will head out on the road to face off against Scituate at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
