Football Game Preview: Clairemont Chieftains vs. Canyon Hills Rattlers

Clairemont is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will challenge the Canyon Hills Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. Clairemont has given up an average of 36.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Clairemont is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 68-56 to Calipatria on Friday. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Clairemont got top-tier performance from Kellen Morton, who threw for 414 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 60 yards. The Chieftains' leading receiver Bradley Eby was Morton's top target yet again, picking up 209 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Canyon Hills didn't have quite enough to beat Rancho Buena Vista on Friday and fell 10-7.

Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Canyon Hills, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Clairemont came up short against Canyon Hills in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 29-17. Can the Chieftains avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
