Basketball Game Preview: New Mexico School for the Deaf Roadrunners vs. Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue

The New Mexico School for the Deaf Roadrunners will venture away from home to square off against the Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Mexico School for the Deaf has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while Roy/Mosquero will come in with 14 straight wins.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-28, which was the final score in New Mexico School for the Deaf's tilt against Cimarron on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Roadrunners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 457th, while the Rams are ranked 55th).

Meanwhile, Roy/Mosquero got the win against Des Moines on Saturday by a conclusive 57-35. The Blue/Lady Blue have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Roy/Mosquero pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for New Mexico School for the Deaf, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

New Mexico School for the Deaf took a serious blow against Roy/Mosquero in their previous meeting back in January, falling 72-35. Can New Mexico School for the Deaf avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
