Baseball Recap: Oakridge Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Oakridge challenged Brazos Christian on Saturday. The Owls lost 11-3 to the Eagles.

Andrew Nelson was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Kingston James was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Oakridge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Brazos Christian, they moved to 2-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, Oakridge and Brazos Christian will both be playing McKinney Christian Academy the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Owls will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
