Attica and Faith Christian are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Red Ramblers are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Attica has given up an average of 12.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Parke Heritage hit Attica with a nine-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Ramblers lost 15-2 to the Wolves. The Red Ramblers haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Aleah Cruz stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Katelynn Driver also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Faith Christian). They had just enough and edged out Clinton Central 10-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the match before.
Keely Frier was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Semira Moon was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Faith Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Faith Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Attica, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Faith Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Attica hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Faith Christian, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Attica's hitters?
Attica took their win against Faith Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 13-0 score. Do the Red Ramblers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
