Softball Game Preview: Waunakee Warriors vs. Beaver Dam Golden Beavers

The Waunakee Warriors will head out to square off against the Beaver Dam Golden Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Waunakee nor Beaver Dam posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Waunakee is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Sun Prairie East just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 13-2.

Meanwhile, Beaver Dam fell victim to Watertown and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Goslings. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Beavers in their meetings with the Goslings: they've now lost three in a row.

Beaver Dam saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Celly Loomans, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Waunakee's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Beaver Dam, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Waunakee came out on top in a nail-biter against Beaver Dam when the teams last played on April 8th, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
