Telfair County comes up short despite Rodriquez Clay's strong performance

Recap: Telfair County Trojans vs. Bleckley County Royals

The Telfair County Trojans lost against the Bleckley County Royals back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Telfair County was the victim of a rough 61-40 defeat at the hands of Bleckley County. While losing is never fun, Telfair County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th, while Bleckley County is ranked 136th).

When it comes to explaining why Telfair County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rodriquez Clay. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Telfair County and nudges their season record down to 6-14. As for Bleckley County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Telfair County will take on Dooly County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Telfair County is facing Dooly County at the right time seeing as Dooly County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bleckley County, they will head out on the road to square off against Swainsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Swainsboro is coming into the game with four straight defeats at home, meaning Bleckley County will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
