It was a good run, but Mater Academy East Las Vegas unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 5-0 to the Moapa Valley Pirates. The shutout was out of character for the Knights seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Virrueta, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-7. As for Moapa Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.

While Mater Academy East Las Vegas had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
