Volleyball Recap: Colby Starts Season with Victory at Home

Colby took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wausau East Lumberjacks, sneaking past 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Colby who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 23-26, 15-8.

Daelyn Rieck paced Colby's offense, picking up 11 kills. Rieck got some help from Zoe Kaiser and her 11 assists. Mckenzi Meyer controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Colby wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Abbotsford on the 30th. As for Wausau East, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Reedsburg on the 30th.
