Basketball Recap: Florala Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Florala and Georgiana squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Florala had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Georgiana Panthers 82-55. The Wildcats have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rayshon Coleman, who went 9-for-21 en route to 22 points and five rebounds. The contest was Coleman's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah McMeans, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 11 points along with eight boards and five assists.

Even though they lost, Florala smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches.

Florala suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 16-3. As for Georgiana, they pushed their record up to 23-4 with the victory, which was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season.

Florala does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Georgiana, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-46 defeat against Shields on the 11th.
