Baseball Game Preview: Cherokee Washington Braves vs. Storm Lake Tornadoes

Cherokee Washington hasn't had much luck against Storm Lake recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Braves will square off against the Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cherokee Washington is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against West Monona by a score of 9-4 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Storm Lake had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Woodbury Central on Saturday.

Cherokee Washington's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Storm Lake, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Cherokee Washington skirted past Storm Lake 4-3 in their previous meeting back in June of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
