Basketball Recap: Ten Straight Home Victories for Santa Fe Trail

Santa Fe Trail won against Iola last Tuesday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Santa Fe Trail Chargers were the clear victor by a 53-28 margin over the Prairie View Buffalos. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Buffalos are ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Santa Fe Trail pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points over those games. As for Prairie View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11-1.

Looking ahead, Santa Fe Trail will square off against Osawatomie at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Prairie View, they will take on Iola at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie View is facing Iola at the right time seeing as Iola is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
