Football Recap: St. John Paul II Academy Comes Up Short

St. John Paul II Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Monday, dropping them down to 0-2. They took a blow against the Saint Andrew's Scots, falling 47-8. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Scots from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Nicholas Pouncey threw for 121 yards on ten of 24 attempts. Maddox Venger was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards. On the ground, Micah Monds rushed for 38 yards.

As for Saint Andrew's, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. That 39 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Saint Andrew's to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Williams, who threw for 187 yards and three touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Williams a new career-high in passer rating (156.1). Quinn Connors was another key player, picking up 87 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

St. John Paul II Academy has already played their next contest, a 40-18 victory against Somerset Prep on the 19th. As for Saint Andrew's, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-9 win against North Broward Prep on the 19th.
