Baseball Game Preview: Lee Wildcats vs. Smith Academy Falcons

The Lee Wildcats will face off against the Smith Academy Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Lee and five for Smith Academy.

Sunday just wasn't the day for Lee's offense. They came up short against Drury on Sunday, falling 11-0. Wildcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Blue Devils since on Sunday.

Granby hit Smith Academy with a four-run seventh inning last Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons fell 6-1 to the Rams.

Smith Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garret Willard, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one stolen base. That triple was Willard's first of the season.

Lee's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Smith Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-12.
