Baseball Recap: Family Christian Has No Trouble Against Liberty Magnet

Family Christian hadn't done well against Liberty Magnet recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Flames were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Patriots. Considering the Flames have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Sam Stewart made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Family Christian is 6-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 10-12 otherwise. Stewart was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Terrance Kilbourne, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Ruckman, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Family Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Family Christian's record is now 16-14. As for Liberty Magnet, they now have a losing record of 14-15.

As of now, neither Family Christian nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
