Roosevelt entered their tilt with McKinley Tech on Monday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They strolled past the McKinley Tech Trainers with points to spare, taking the game 79-60. The Roughriders pushed the score to 62-42 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trainers cut but never quite recovered from.

It was another big night for Ke'Mari Pointer, who went 7 of 11 en route to 23 points and six assists. Gabriel Hudgens was another key player, putting up 11 points and five assists.

Pointer wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Roosevelt was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, McKinley Tech saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marcus Dunbar dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dunbar has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rico Zeno, who posted 14 points.

Roosevelt pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for McKinley Tech, they moved to 16-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will venture away from home to take on Anacostia at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Roosevelt's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for McKinley Tech, they will challenge Banneker at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. McKinley Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season.
