Baseball Recap: Mercer Takes a Loss

Mercer made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Slippery Rock, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Rockets: they've now lost three in a row.

Aedan Ryhal put in work no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Ryhal was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Ryhal wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Fisher, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Mercer's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Slippery Rock, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.

As of now, neither Mercer nor the Rockets have any future games scheduled.
