Basketball Game Preview: Triton Central Tigers vs. Roncalli Royals

Two dominant guards in Eli Sego and Conner Kesler are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Triton Central Tigers will host the Roncalli Royals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Triton Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season.

Triton Central's tournament run continued when they took on Yorktown on Saturday. Triton Central took down Yorktown 57-38.

Silas Blair continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 11 of 14 en route to 24 points and seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Triton Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sego, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Roncalli faced Mt. Vernon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Roncalli took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Vernon. The Royals' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Having lost for the first time this season, Roncalli fell to 8-1. As for Triton Central, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
