Cardinal Newman won the last time they faced Somerset Academy - Canyons and things went their way on Monday too. The Crusaders were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Cardinal Newman was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-12, 25-13.

Lyla Buser paced Cardinal Newman's offense, picking up 13 kills. Buser were helped by Dayana Acevedo and Rylie Marino, who contributed 12 assists each. Olivia Peterson controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Cardinal Newman's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
