Softball Recap: Glendale Prep Academy Wins Going Away Against Leading Edge Academy - GEC

Glendale Prep Academy won the last time they faced Leading Edge Academy - GEC and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Glendale Prep Academy Griffins put the hurt on the Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans with a sharp 20-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Griffins.

Raegan Rockey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Rockey was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Glendale Prep Academy got a massive performance out of Sophia Nakachi, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Nakachi has posted since back in April of 2024. Karin DeStefano was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Glendale Prep Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .818. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leading Edge Academy - GEC only posted an OBP of .294.

Glendale Prep Academy's record is now 2-0. As for Leading Edge Academy - GEC, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Glendale Prep Academy will face off against Heritage Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Leading Edge Academy - GEC, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 18-10 loss against Highland Prep on the 6th.
