Volleyball Recap: Morningside Comes Up Short

Morningside entered their match against Hawthorne on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Monarchs came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. If the Monarchs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 27-25, 27-25.

Morningside's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Hawthorne, their victory bumped their record up to 3-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morningside will host Lawndale at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hawthorne, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Leuzinger at 3:30 p.m.
