Football Recap: Garfield's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Thursday

Garfield won the last time they faced Huntington Park and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bulldogs walked away with a 35-28 win over the Spartans. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Spartans are ranked 853rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Garfield's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Carlos Patino, Javier Vargas, and Chuck Perez, who each picked up one sack apiece.
