Baseball Recap: Glasgow Extends Winning Streak to Three

Glasgow gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past the Washington County Commanders 6-4. Winning may never get old, but the Scotties sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Steven Garrett was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Garrett was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Garrett wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Josiah Driver, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Driver is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Bam Nolley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Glasgow was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Glasgow's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-7-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Washington County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Coming up, Glasgow will host Western Hills at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington County, they are taking a road trip to square off against Van Buren at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Black Knights will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Commanders surely won't give up without a fight.
