Basketball Game Preview: Izard County Cougars vs. Marshall Bobcats

The Izard County Cougars will challenge the Marshall Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Izard County is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Bay just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 42-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered since December 9, 2024.

Meanwhile, Marshall came up short against Cedar Ridge on Tuesday, falling 71-46.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Izard County, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Everything went Izard County's way against Marshall in their previous matchup back in December of 2025, as Izard County made off with a 54-34 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
