Basketball Game Preview: Saline Bobcats vs. Georgetown Bulldogs

The Saline Bobcats will square off against the Georgetown Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Saline is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Jonesboro-Hodge and fell 58-28.

Meanwhile, Georgetown had to suffer through a 57-8 loss at the hands of Elizabeth. While losing is never fun, Georgetown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Elizabeth is ranked 104th).

Saline's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Georgetown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Saline against Georgetown in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Saline since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
